Obturator Hernia
Pelvic hernia mostly occurring in old, multiparous women.
Features include -
1. Bowel herniates through the obturator foramen, hence intestinal
obstruction is seen.
2. Presents with Swelling in inguinal triangle along with
painful limb movements.
3. P/v examination reveals tenderness at the obturator foramen
4. All cases need to be treated surgically
HYT 2:
Carney's Complex
It is an AD inherited syndrome due to mutation of PRKAR1A.
Features include -
1. Atrial myxomas - commonly multiple
2. Heterogenous skin pigmentation
3. Pituitary adenomas
4. Sertolid cell tumors
5. Hyperparathyroidism leading to hypercalcemia
6. Tumors of adrenal gland, testis, breast and thyroid
This should not be confused with Carney's triad of GIST, Pulmonary
chondroma and Paraganglioma.
